Japan issues tsunami alert after 7.5-magnitude earthquake

Japan Meteorological Agency issued a major tsunami warning after the country was hit by a 7.5-magnitude earthquake on Monday, as reported by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) minutes earlier.

The warning was given to the Ishikawa Prefecture, Hokkaido, and the entire west coast of Japan as the tremor struck 52 kilometers away from the city of Anamizu at a depth of 13 kilometers around 4 pm in Japan. An immediate evacuation was ordered in the affected areas.
