The European Union (EU) and the Bar Association of Tunisia (ONAT) are finalizing the digitization of legal proceedings in Tunisian courts. The issue was brought under the spotlight, on Friday, during a meeting between ONAT Secretary General Hatem Mziou and an EU delegation.
The technical aspects of this new platform were also discussed, reads a statement of the ONAT.
The new platform will allow lawyers and the Bar Association to manage and supervise legal proceedings. It will also preserve the independence of the profession and protect data.
The working conditions of lawyers and all staff members’ working in the judiciary field will be considerably improved.
Thanks to this new platform, they will be able to follow remotely the cases in progress in all the courts across Tunisia, submit reports and provide better services to citizens, the statement adds.
This programme is funded by the EU.
