Lebanon-Prime minister Saad Hariri announces resignation

Lebanon’s prime minister Saad Hariri announced his resignation on Tuesday in rejoinder to almost two weeks of nationwide anti-government protests.

“People had waited for us to reach a political solution to stop the downward spiral… but I’ve reached a dead-end and will be headed to the Baabda Presidential Palace to submit my resignation,” Hariri said.
