Magnitude 6.0 earthquake strikes off coast of Japan

A magnitude 6.0 earthquake has hit the coast of the Ibaraki prefecture in Japan, with was felt by some attending the Olympic Games in Tokyo.

The quake hit at about 5:30 a.m. local time on Wednesday, according to initial reports from the Japan Meteorological Agency, which monitors seismic activity.
