More than 300 remain trapped and are waiting to be evacuated after a fire broke out at the World Trade Centre Hong Kong, the city’s police force (HKPF) stated on Wednesday, as cited per the South China Morning Post.
The firefighters, who are also trying to contain the blaze, have already rescued a number of people from lower floors. So far, four reported they are feeling unwell, mostly due to smoke inhalation, and one woman was taken to hospital.
The firefighters also upgraded the blaze to a level-three incident, using a scale from one to five, with the latter being the most serious.
