Nicaragua intends to file a complaint against Israel for genocide in the Gaza Strip at the International Court of Justice, according to an announcement by its Foreign Ministry.
In a letter addressed to Tel Aviv and quoted by site 19digital, Nicaragua denounces the blockade of Gaza and the intensive air raids targeting civilians, which it considers indications of genocidal intent on the part of Israel.
The move follows an equal action taken by South Africa last December, accusing Israel of “acts of genocide” in Gaza, a claim supported by the Arab League, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and 17 other countries.
