The organizing committee of the CAN, led by the president of CAF, Motsebe decided not to replay the match, without considering the exit of the Tunisian team and acknowledged that the Zambian referee Sikazwe fell ill because of heat.
The CAF confirmed that it would take the decision to open an inquiry on Janny Sikazwe (referee from Tunisia – Mali) as a protocol to finally make the referee safe and holy.
At the end of the match, a CAF official told AFP that the match should have finished, three minutes from the end, but the Tunisian team did not return to the field, which prompted the referee to end it.
