The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has voiced regret over the decision of many countries to temporarily halt new funding to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), viewing this as a collective punishment that would exacerbate the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip, as reported by the official news agency.
The OIC called on these countries to reconsider their decision so that UNRWA can continue to provide its services to Palestinian refugees and meet their basic needs of food, shelter and primary medical care, especially in the Gaza Strip.
