The number of people who lost their lives in a suicide bombing attack at a mosque in northwestern Pakistan increased to 88, local authorities said on Tuesday.
A bomber entered the mosque in the city of Peshawar during a morning prayer on Monday, where over 300 worshippers participated in the praying. The explosion’s strength blasted through the roof, the Pakistani police revealed, killing and injuring dozens of people.
“Most of them were policemen,” hospital spokesman Mohammad Asim said, adding that the number of wounded people has surpassed 150. Yesterday’s attack marks the deadliest incident against Pakistan’s security forces in the last four years.
