Palestinian Foreign Minister stresses Palestine’s pride in Tunisia’s position

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Tunisians Abroad Nabil Ammar held a meeting with his Palestinian counterpart, Riad al-Maliki during the third South Summit of the 77-plus China group held in Kampala, Uganda.

At the outset of the meeting, Minister al-Maliki voiced the Palestinian leadership’s pride in the position taken by President of the Republic Kais Saied and Tunisia’s unwavering and principled support for Palestinian rights. This support is viewed as a marked impetus to the ongoing struggle. The Palestinian Minister stressed the need to keep international pressure to achieve a ceasefire and remove obstacles inflicted by the occupying force on the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza. This is critical to address the substantial humanitarian needs and counter attempts at forced displacement. He urged the international community, especially led by Arab countries, to intensify actions to prevent further deterioration of the catastrophic situation in Gaza resulting from the aggressive actions of the occupying entity.

In response, Minister Nabil Ammar reiterated Tunisia’s solidarity and steadfast support for the Palestinian cause. He affirmed that Tunisia would utilize all its capabilities to aid the Palestinian people in their struggle to retrieve their rights and put an end to colonialism. The Minister underlined that supporting Palestinian rights is a moral and legal responsibility for the entire international community. Tunisia also voiced its firm rejection of double standards in dealing with the Palestinian issue and reiterated its continued readiness to actively partake in any efforts aimed at ending the historical injustice faced by Palestine.
