Pompeo accuses says al Qaeda has new home in Iran, gives no hard evidence

U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced on Tuesday, without giving hard proof, that al Qaeda had built a new home base in Iran and the United States had fewer opportunities in dealing with the group now it was “burrowed inside” that country

Pompeo said the U.S will add new sanctions on Iran over its claimed links to Al-Qaeda. He added that Tehran’s intelligence ministry aids Al-Qaeda while the organization “protects” Iran.

He affirmed that the Iran-Al-Qaeda link is a “massive force for evil across the world” and went on to accuse Tehran of helping plan the 9/11 attacks on the US.
