Russian war against Ukraine: Present situation (Ukrainian Embassy in Tunisia)

UKRAINIAN ARMY MILITARY ADVANCEMENTS

  • Defence Forces of Ukraine continue to take all measures to undermine the military and economic potential of Russian occupiers and to stop Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine.

  • In recent days, Ukraine’s forces attacked the enemy’s fuel and lubricants depot in the Tambov region, as well as the oil depot in the Republic of Adygea. Ukrainian drones attacked a range of oil refineries in Russia as well as radar stations and electronic intelligence centers of the Russian invaders in the Bryansk region and the temporarily occupied Crimea. Ukraine’s forces successfully attacked the storage and preparation sites for the use of Shahed drones, training buildings, control and communication points of these drones which were in the Krasnodar region and used by Russia against Ukraine’s civilian infrastructure facilities.

NEW ARREST WARRANTS FOR RUSSIAN HIGH-RANKING OFFICIALS

  • On June 25, the International Criminal Court issued arrest new warrants for Shoigu, the former Russian Defence Minister, and the current military Chief of the General Staff, Gerasimov. They are responsible for attacks on Ukrainian civilian objects, energy infrastructure, causing excessive damage to the civilian population and objects, as well as crimes against humanity.

  • In total, the Court has already issued arrest warrants for 6 Russian high-ranking officials involved in crimes within the framework of Russian aggression against Ukraine. These are the dictator Putin, the so-called “child ombudsman” Lvova-Belova, the commander of long-range aviation Kobylash, the commander of the Black Sea Fleet Sokolov, as well as Shoigu and Gerasimov.

  • The decision of the International Court of Justice cannot be overturned by international diplomacy. Those charged will be prosecuted until justice is served.

UKRAINE WILL BE PART OF THE EU

  • On June 25, the EU began official negotiations on the accession of Ukraine. For Ukraine, European integration is liberation from Russian influence and a return to Europe, to which Ukraine has always belonged historically, politically and culturally.

  • As part of the EU, Ukraine will make a significant contribution to advanced industries, such as green energy and digitalization. Ukraine has tremendous potential for innovation and are ready to share its achievements with partners.

  • Ukraine has the largest military experience on the continent, so it will strengthen the security and defence of the EU. Ukrainians will make every effort to make Europe a continent of freedom, unity, cooperation and peace.
