Saudis, UAE decline to help US with oil

The leaders of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have declined to talk to United States President Joe Biden on support concerning Ukraine and containing a high spike in oil prices, being ever more critical of US’s policy in the Persian Gulf and the Middle East, US officials said.

The Saudis have signalled the need of the US to provide more support for the military intervention in the Yemen civil war, helping the Middle Eastern state with its own nuclear program, and arranging US legal immunity for Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who faces multiple lawsuits in the country, including the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi in 2018.
