Ship collision in Baltic Sea leaves 2 missing

Two people are missing following the collision of two vessels between Ystad in Sweden and Denmark’s island of Bornholm in the Baltic Sea, the Swedish Maritime Administration confirmed on Monday.

The incident caused the ship Karin Hoej, registered in Denmark, to turn upside down. The vessel reportedly carried two people that are now missing. The crew of the other boat, the Scot Carrier, registered in the United Kingdom, is safe, the authorities said.

The Swedish Coast Guard stated it is still unknown what led to the collision but added that human negligence is the most likely cause.
