Stadium 974 in Tunisia: Qatar has given its agreement in principle

During a press conference today, Friday,  Minister of Youth and Sports Kamel Deguiche, confirmed that Qatar had given its agreement in principle to permit Tunisia to host the “974” stadium, after the ending of the 2022 World Cup. He added: “What I can confirm is that there is an approval to give us stadium 974, and I talked with the Qatari Minister of Sports, from whom I felt a positive interaction, particularly since Tunisia was the first country to submit this request, which is what makes us a priority ”.

He emphasised that obtaining the stadium “974”, which can be dismantled, is not an acquired right especially with the presence of several countries which in turn submitted to the Qatari authorities a request to acquire the stadium which can accommodate 40,000. spectators.

Concerning Tunisian-Qatari sports cooperation, the Tunisian minister continued: “In the field of sport, there is a tremendous possibility of opening a branch of the Aspire International Academy in Tunisia.
