Sweden Reports over 3,000 Coronavirus Deaths But Insists Situation Manageable

Sweden on Thursday announced more than 3,000 coronavirus deaths, after obtaining international attention for forcing more flexible lockdown measures.

The Public Health Agency of Sweden said it had recorded 3,040 deaths and 24,623 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus in the country of some 10.3 million inhabitants.

The somber death toll in the country has far exceeded the tolls of neighboring Denmark and Norway.
