In recent days, the epidemiological situation in the governorate of Tataouine has grown to be critical and terrifying with the nearly total occupation of all ICU and artificial respiration beds at Tataouine Regional Hospital.
The number of hospitalized in the COVID unit rose to 11 patients on 16 beds, including 4 in the ICU unit and 6 patients in the COVID-19 department in the local hospital in Ghomrassen as well as 2 out of 4 beds occupied at the local hospital in Remada.
The Regional Director of Health, Dr Taha Mkadmi, maintained he has sought to add oxygen beds exceptionally.
According to the last update of the epidemiological situation during the last 48 hours, the Regional Directorate of Health of Tataouine has registered 4 losses, including three in Tataouine North and 1 in Bir Lahmer Rouge, consequently bringing the death toll since the start of the pandemic to 178 cases, including 75 in North Tataouine and 37 cases in South Tataouine, 34 cases in Ghomrassen, 11 cases in Beni M’hira, 9 in Bir Lahmer, 5 cases in Essommar, 4 cases in Remada, and 3 cases in Dehiba.
The Regional Directorate likewise recorded during the last two days, 80 new infections distributed as follows: 31 cases in Tataouine North, 15 cases in Tataouine South, 13 cases in Ghomrassen, 10 cases in Bir Lahmer, 6 cases in Essommar, 4 cases in Remada, and 1 case in Dehiba, therefore pushing the infection toll to 3,127 confirmed cases since the start of the crises.
