The “inflammatory letter” from Committee to Support Resistance to EU

After the fatal strikes targeting civilians in Gaza causing hundreds of deaths, the Resistance Support Commission, after declaring the organization of a large demonstration tomorrow Saturday as a sign of solidarity with Palestine, transmitted this letter to the European Union:

“Following the catastrophic turn that the situation in Gaza has taken, which is increasingly taking on the characteristics of a really unprecedented tragedy, consisting of a pure and simple extermination of an entire people,…

We, the civil society organizations signatories hereto,…

We hold you and your administrations legally and morally responsible for the fighting crimes, ethnic cleansing and extermination perpetrated by the Israeli occupying forces in the besieged Gaza Strip, flouting the most basic humanitarian rules which need the occupying authority to provide civilian populations with critical needs, such as water, electricity, food and medicine and, moreover, prohibiting access by international humanitarian organizations. relief to besieged populations.

Therefore, not only do we witness with horribleness the silence of your governments – quick, nevertheless, in other circumstances, to claim democracy and human rights – in the face of the crimes of the occupier, but we also report a culpable bias on your part for his biased point of view: we note with puzzlement that, not satisfied with denouncing the victim who faces an intentional policy of collective massacre based on identity, you provide your encouragement to the occupier, incite him to engage his crimes and you strive to defend them, and this, from now on, without feeling the slightest scruple, in an explicit manner, offering him unlimited and unconditional support.

This makes you, from our point of view as civil and democratic organizations and people aspiring to liberation and peace, accomplices in offences committed against civilians, children, women and men. We also denounce the policy of double standards that you practice with regard to the problems of the world: at the moment when you remain silent in the face of the massacres and the genocide perpetrated in Palestine, you rush with fervour to defend Ukraine, consequently showing blatant bias and culpable involvement in provoking conflicts around the world.

We observe today, through sound and picture, the scorched earth crimes, the destruction of buildings and homes on the heads of those who live there, the incessant bombings which have, for more than a week, more than 3,000 casualties, a quarter of which are children and third women. Civilian populations, schools, hospitals, medical relief personnel and reporters are intentionally targeted during its bombings, which makes this fight an obvious war of extermination and ethnic cleansing. We watch your masks fall which falsely displayed your attachment to the values of freedom, democracy and human rights. Here you are, today, dedicated to justifying attacks against unarmed civilian populations, premeditated assassinations and large-scale destruction of property, here you are who support the annihilation of civilian establishments planned for the practice of worship, teaching, medical care; even medical units and places where the sick and wounded were gathered were not spared. From the point of view of humanitarian principles and under international agreements, you are an actor in this war, as long as you support attacks against relief workers, international organizations and medical operators. You make yourself complicit in the same crime, when you support orders sought at driving populations from their lands, by utilising forced displacement and weapons banned by the international community: all of these actions constitute elements of the crime of crime against humanity. , under the rules of the International Criminal Court, which you have intentionally and blithely flouted.

Instead of assuming your responsibilities and exercising your political and legal prerogatives, by refusing “Israeli” aggression and confirming that the leaders of the occupation authority do not escape punishment, you prefer to hide behind the idle principle that these crimes are only self-defence and you provide endless support to the machine of destruction; you have even managed to repress demonstrations of support for the Palestinians who intend to denounce the crimes of the occupier.

We, organizations and people, consider that the right of the Palestinian people to fight against occupation is a legitimate right secured by international law; this right was exercised by the European peoples against Nazism and fascism. We consider that the alignment of the United States and your countries alongside the occupier only prolongs the racist and Nazi occupation and the crimes of the occupier.

Your support for the continued attack on Gaza and the Apartheid regime over it makes you partners in this crime against humanity. We consequently call on you, in accordance with your obligations under international humanitarian law, to denounce the crimes of the occupying entity in Gaza in a clear and frank manner, to immediately stop supplying it with your political and military support, to operate all your weight to put an end, without delay, to the aggression against Gaza and its people and to refrain from pressuring the Egyptian state to accept the forced displacement of Gaza citizens to Egypt, in accordance with a plan to make part of the Sinai an alternative land for Palestinians. We request you to ensure that urgent medical and humanitarian aid can reach residents. Finally, we invite you to respect the right of your citizens to freely voice their opinions to demonstrate support for the right of people to self-determination and to condemn the crimes of collective extermination suffered by the defenceless Palestinian people.
