Tunisa-The Étoile Sportive du Sahel player is threatened with suspension

On Sunday evening Al-Ahly published a communique where they unveiled the latest updates concerning the submitted complaint against Ivorian footballer, Souleymane Coulibaly after he transferred to  Étoile Sportive du Sahel. Al-Ahly has received an official letter from the International Football Federation (FIFA) confirming the validity of the court proceedings initiated by the club regarding Souleymane Coulibaly. After the latter escape and the final enforceable provisions received.

Furthermore, the FIFA letter stated that the player was given a final deadline until 24 June for the execution of the judgment and he ought to pay an estimated penalty of one million and 450,000 $ for the club. Coulibaly has to pay the full penalty and in case he fails to do so, The FIFA will suspend him until further notice.

Moreover, Al-Ahly explained in its press release Coulibaly’s prosecution proceedings since his escape after filing an official complaint to the FIFA, which was forwarded to the FIFA Dispute Settlement Commission, the verdict was handed down on  April 19, 2018, binding Coulibaly to pay a fine of one million and $ 450,000 to the Al-Ahly. Coulibaly was notified of the verdict and fine if he doesn’t impugn within 30 days. FIFA will permanently adhere to the verdict on the 19 February 2019.

Al-Ahly added that the decision of the dispute resolution committee was applicable, asserting that the player’s lawyer tried to challenge the verdict on October 25, but Al-Ahly objected the appeal on time, Prompting the player’s lawyer to withdraw from the case and apologize for not completing the task.

The court upheld the disputed verdict and sent an official letter to FIFA, in which it confirmed the validity of the court proceedings followed by the Egyptian team.  Therefore, the newly appointed player for the Étoile Sportive du Sahel is threatened with suspension in case he fails to pay the fine in the due date.
