Unlike the previous years where the festival hosted countries from different continents and geographical regions. This year the Carthage Film Festival will host Lebanon, Nigeria, Chile, and Japan. Furthermore, the festival will launch a new section dealing with diaspora films in the Arab and African region for bi-national directors or directors from the region that hold foreign nationalities.
New spaces will be created and centred in Habib Bourguiba Street in the capital and the City of Culture, to simplify concepts and principles related to the production of virtual reality. One of the highlights of this year’s festival is the orientation towards documentaries as a genre of film which generates the interest of Arab and African directors. Workshops will be organized with the aim of connecting with documentary filmmakers. The festival management will hold a press conference on the 9 of October to unveil more details for the scheduled festival which will take place on the 26 of October to the 2nd of November.
