Ten members of the Jouaouda municipal council (Jendouba) announced their official resignation including the first and the second deputy mayor.
The resigning members attributed their resignation, in a letter to the governor of Jendouba, by the lack of communication with the mayor who “decides single-handedly without any discussion with the other members of the municipal council, composed of 18 councillors.”
They lamented the failure of working in such circumstances and of meeting the expectations of the inhabitants.
According to the TAP agency,Mayor of Jouaouda Houda Hamdi dismissed all these accusations, saying that several members of the council absented from council meetings for no reason.
Attempts are undertaken to change the resigning members to change their decision and overcome the differences, council members told TAP.
