The Criminal Chamber of the Sousse Court of Appeal gave its verdict on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 in the murder case of Lotfi Nagedh, president of the Regional Union of Farmers and general coordinator of Nidaa Tounes in Tataouine.
The convictions of two defendants out of a total of ten have been validated. They each received 15 years in jail. Two other defendants were sentenced to complicity and they also got 15 years in prison. The rest of the defendants were sentenced to one year in prison for partaking in the brawl that caused Nagedh’s death.
In addition to jail, a fine was inflicted on four defendants. The amount will be remitted to the heirs of Lotfi Nagedh.
