Tunisia-300 journalists fired since the beginning of the year,says SNJT member

Member of the  National Trade Union of Tunisian Journalists (SNJT), Mehdi Jelassi said that 300 journalists were sacked in Tunisia since the beginning of the year.

In a statement to Shems, FM  he criticized the Ministerial council decisions in regard to the media sector, calling them suspicious.

He stressed that most of the decisions are mostly privileges for owners of institutions and websites.

He further hinted for the possibility of a general strike if negotiations fail with the government.
