Director of General Diplomacy and Information at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mohamed Trabelsi told Tunisie Numérique that 510 Tunisians have been evacuated from Ukraine by civilian and military planes since the beginning of the Russian invasion. He clarified that Tunisians were evacuated from the Polish-Ukrainian borders while other citizens were assisted by Tunisian embassies in Poland, Romania and Bucharest.
According to him, other stranded citizens returned to Tunisia at their own cost. Trabelsi also confirmed that 17 Tunisians are stranded in the conflict zones with their families, revealing that the supervisory ministry is in regular contact with them to secure their evacuation in the best possible conditions, in coordination with the Ukrainian authorities and international organizations.
