Deputy Speaker of Parliament Tarak Fetiti called on prime minister Hichem Mechichi to apologize to the Tunisian people after the video of the assault on a young man.
The video has circulated on social networks revealing police officers assaulting a young resident of Sidi Hassine, after having undressed him in the middle of the road.
During his intervention in the plenary session on Thursday, June 10, 2021, Fetiti condemned the aggression and humiliation of the young person believing that there is no reason to treat him in this way. He further called on the director of national security, Zouhaier Seddik, to initiate an investigation.
“What I saw on the video shocked me. I have never witnessed anything like this. It is truly degrading,” deplored the MP.
