Tunisia-Achaab Yourid calls for early legislative and presidential elections

Achaab Yourid announced via a statement released yesterday that it was absurd to talk of legitimacy after the overruns that issue in the latest report of the Court of Auditors concerning the financing of electoral campaigns. It called for early legislative and presidential elections after the amendment of the electoral law in order to set in place a majority capable of leading the country.

The party further condemned the distortion and falsification of the communication content between the head of government, Hichem Mechichi and Under-Secretary of State Wendy Sherman, estimating that the content of the press release published by the official page of the presidency of the government does not match with that published by the Embassy of the United States in Tunisia, in particular with regard to the call for acceleration of the establishment of the Constitutional Court.

Achaab Yourid said this government is no longer able to handle the current health crisis and that state officials must mobilize to save the country, warning against any interference in Tunisian internal affairs.
