Tunisia-Afek Tounes rejects the presidential decree on the electoral law

Afek Tounes reiterated its complete rejection of President Kais Saied’s electoral decree, which “undermines the independence of the isie”, and raises grave concerns regarding the availability of transparency and integrity requirements in future electoral rights.  The party likewise added that the neutrality and independence of the Electoral Commission is an essential issue and represent the most important guarantee of democratic political life.

It considers that the tries to dominate it and attach it to the Palace of Carthage are evidence of a reversal towards and the application of an authoritarian project. The party also cautioned of a political, economic and social crisis, the most serious and the most important since independence.
