The Ministry of Cultural Affairs announced t that musician and composer Ahmed Achour has passed away on Friday aged 76.
According to the same source, the musicologist, born in February 1945 in Hammam-Lif, was a conductor and chaired the Tunisian Symphony Orchestra from 1979 to 2011.
The deceased was also considered among the best musicologists in Tunisia since he had contributed to the evolution of the sector, in particular by the establishment of new traditions of national symphonic music.
