Speaking on the radio , Al Amal party leader Ahmed Nejib Chebbi asserted that the President of the republic Kais Saied “took advantage of the political crisis to seize power”. Calling what occurred on July 25, 2021, a coup d’etat.
Chebbi said Kais Saied had contributed to the deepening of the crisis and that he was not soliciting a solution to the outstanding problems. He added that Parliament cannot represent an imminent peril within the meaning of article 80 of the constitution.
