Politician, writer and doctor, Dr Mohamed Sahbi Basly died early this morning, at the age of 68, from the coronavirus.
The deceased was the governor of Medenine and Sfax, before serving three large embassies, New Delhi, Madrid and Beijing, where he had been an ambassador for nearly five years.
