Tunisia-Arrest of Bhiri-Imed Ben Halima: It doesn’t just happen to others

In a video shared  on his official page, attorney and political activist Imed Ben Halima remarked on the arrest of  Ennahdha member Noureddine Bhiri. Ben Halima recollected that Bhiri will not be investigated by the security units but rather the investigating judge since he is a lawyer.

Calling for respect for the law, Ben Halima disclosed that the house arrest decision is not necessarily connected to court orders. “I’m with law enforcement, though I’m against a show that is no use. You have to differentiate between political conflicts and personal relationships. it doesn’t just happen to others! “He declared, adding that these practices infringe rights and freedoms. “I hope this arrest will be followed by the opening of several cases,” added the same source.

The attorney recalled that he called on President Kais Saied to initiate legal proceedings against some well-known figures including Sahbi Atig after the July 25 measures were put in place. The speaker examined political figures implicated in several court cases including Lotfi Ben Sassi, Mofdi Mseddi and Youssef Chahed, recalling that the latter has left the country.
