Tunisia – Arrest of head of organization for defense of refugees and fight against racism

The general prosecutor’s office at the Financial Judicial Pole authorized agents of the Central Division for the fight against financial delinquency of the National Guard in Aouina to interrogate the head of an association dealing with refugee affairs and the “fight against racism » for suspicion of economic crimes.

The prosecution at the Tunis Court of First Instance has authorized the opening of inquiries against some associations and organizations dealing with the case of refugees and foreigners for suspicion of money laundering and financial corruption. It was decided to subcontract the investigations to the Court of first instance of Tunis in partnership with the Central Division of the National Guard in Aouina and the Directorate of the Judicial Police in Al-Gorjani.
