Instagrammer Meriem Debbegh was apprehended and questioned on the evening of Monday, before being placed in police custody, as part of an inquiry , on the orders of the prosecution, announced her lawyer Ahmed Ben Hassana.
This decision was taken in reaction to a complaint filed about a month ago by Hanane El Ech, also influential on Instagram, for defamation and slander.
The lawyer stated Debbegh would be detained for 48 hours before further questioning.
