A patrol from the South Kairouan National Guard post succeeded in arresting a Takfirist element wanted for the benefit of the National Terrorist Crimes Investigation Unit for membership of a terrorist organization.
It was also found that this element was the subject of a search notice for the benefit of the Kairouan Court of First Instance for attempted murder, and he was sentenced in absentia to two years and 8 months in prison, according to a statement released by the Interior Ministry on Wednesday evening.
