Al Qotb Party reported today, Tuesday, November 14, 2023, the detention of the party’s general coordinator, Riad Ben Fadhl, at Tunis-Carthage airport while he was returning from abroad, and he was taken to the El-Aouina barracks and incarcerated for five days pending further inquiry . The party was unable to know the charges against him.
The Party condemned the arrest of Ben Fadhl, believing that this “arbitrary practice is reminiscent of the practices of the November dictatorship”.
The party also voiced absolute solidarity with its general coordinator, demanding his immediate release and an end to all malicious legal proceedings against him.
It called on all parties, organizations and all activists to oppose oppression and abuse against opponents with the purpose of intimidating and silencing them, according to what was declared on the page party.
