Tunisia-Attayar maintains confidence in PM Elyes Fakhfakh

The democratic current “Attaya” party issued a press release on Tuesday, June 30, 2020, revealing its complete support for the government coalition and its confidence in the government’s presidency, which was nonetheless decayed by a case of conflicts of interest.

Minister of State to the Prime Minister in charge of Civil Service, Good Governance and Fight against Corruption Mohamed Abbou hailed the government efforts during its 100 days, especially in terms of the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Stressing that he fully supported the ruling coalition, Attayar called on the components of the coalition to present more solidarity based on the Stability Charter, the basis of comprehensive political, economic and social reform.

The party also called on the government to continue its war against corruption, Mohamed Abbou’s party applauded the transparency that Tunisian democracy had shown in the face of PM Elyes Fakhfakh scandal.

The party insisted that the confidence it had placed in the person of the head of government was still solid pending the results of the probe started to verify the content of the charges brought against him.

He also affirmed his attachment to the principles of the fight against corruption “regardless of the person”.

Attayar also did not fail to reiterate his calls for the finalization of the processes aimed at establishing the constitutional institutions, in particular the Constitutional Court, whose members have still not been elected.
