Addressing the latest G7 statement, economist Ezzeddine Saidane stated the recommendations therein are essentially the same as those of the IMF and of European countries and others with financial interests in Tunisia.

Tunisia requires almost 198 billion dinars to meet its expenses by the conclusion of the year. The tax revenues collected by this date can amount to 8 billion dinars.

Two solutions are then possible:

• The President of the Republic must speak personally to the representatives of these states, who, let us not forget, have frequently expressed their support for Tunisia.
• The second solution and the worst of all according to the economist would be to call on the Central Bank (BCT) to run the printing press, In the sense that the BCT will provide the state with the required liquidity without any quid pro quo.
