Tunisia-[Audio]Imed Ben Halima: The President of the Republic must learn to listen

Speaking to Tunisie Numérique, Attorney and political activist Imed Ben Halima stressed the latest US Embassy statement amounts to intervention in Tunisia’s internal affairs. This sort of practice unfortunately no longer shocks us, he lamented.

Concerning the “recommendations” in the statement, the politician revealed that the United States demands:

  •  Fixing precise deadlines for exceptional measures
  • A roadmap
  • A dialogue with the different political actors
“We desire the July 25 process to be a success, that is why the President of the Republic must learn to listen,” said Ben Halima.
Ben Halima, therefore, expressed his fear that the process that so many supported will fall because of the “stubbornness” of the President of the Republic.
