Residents of the Oued Zarga area ( governorate of Beja) shut down the street joining Beja to Tunis to oppose the repeated water outage for a month.
In a statement to Tunisie Numérique, the consultant to the municipality of Testour Khoubaib Ayari reported that the peaceful march lasted 2 hours. Recalling that the protest movement was organized to show residents’ dissatisfaction with the disruption of the water supply, Ayari pointed fingers at the low water pressure.
He added that inhabitants were without drinking water during the days of Aid in such a specific health situation. The official further revealed that the authorities have taken charge of the issue of water supply to Oued Zarga threatening to escalate in case the demands of the protesters were not taken sincerely.
