The Court of First Instance in Kasserine resolved to retain a Tunisian citizen and an Algerian national in confinement over the ownership of an antenna. The device was caught by customs officers trained in parcel inspection in the region,reported the TAP agency.
The seized antenna and pieces of equipment could be utilised to make encrypted communications or to interrupt communication networks, announced spokesperson for the Kasserine Court of First Instance Habib Aguili.
The detained, a Tunisian national from Kasserine alleges the devices were intended for his Algerian friend who resides near the Tunisian-Algerian borders. The Algerian national was also detained for further inquiry.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office concluded to transfer the case to the Judicial Division of Counter-Terrorism, recognising the sensitiveness of the device which professes a menace to home security
