Tunisia-Baffoun: “early elections cannot take place in a constitutional vacuum”

Speaking to Shems FM, President of the Independent Higher Authority for Elections (ISIE) Nebil Baffoun stressed that “the decisions taken by the President of the Republic Kais Saied do not conform to the Constitution, and may induce uncertainty about the general process.

“We are following what is occurring and we are shocked.” he added. Baffoun further assured that “early elections cannot take place within the framework of a constitutional vacuum, because the Constitution is the single reference to decide for early elections.”
