Tunisia: Ban on marriage contracts in Sousse, unless these conditions are met

The regional chamber of notaries in Sousse declared a ban for notaries to travel to formalize marriage contracts, given the gravity of the epidemiological situation in the region. Nevertheless, it is still permitted to conclude marriage contracts inside the offices of the notaries and in the attendance of the bride and groom only, and to avoid the gatherings that normally take place in such ceremonies. This decision was taken following the press release issued by the governorate of Sousse forbidding marriage ceremonies and decreeing the closure of all party rooms as well as the decision of most municipalities in the governorate to prohibit the formalization of marriage contracts. until July 11, 2021.
