Arrested last night to serve a prison sentence to which he had been convicted by the court of first instance of La Manouba, MP Maher Zid was released by the magistrate in charge of the case after he submitted documents securing the end of the proceedings against him.
However, before being able to leave the court, the deputy was approached by law enforcement officers to tell him that they were coming to arrest him on the order of the Tunis military court, as part of an inquiry into the airport case.
The MP retreated with his lawyers in the courtroom before choosing to turn himself over .
