Tunisia-Bassam Naifer: “Current issue of vulnerable employment is a critical topic of debate in Tunisia” [Video]

Speaking to Tunisie Numérique, financial and economic analyst Bassam Ennaifer noted that the issue of vulnerable employment is currently the subject of a critical debate in Tunisia, as the President of the Republic underlined the necessity to put an end to outsourcing contracts, and the Ministry of Social Affairs also submitted a project to revise the Labor Code.

Niefer added that numerous labour organizations, such as Connacht, are in the process of concluding deals to improve the situation of their employers, noting the significance of such initiatives because they give workers psychological comfort and a clear vision for their future.

The same source called for the need to address the cost of work in Tunisia, which is considered extremely high, due to the large number of fees that also impact the employer, adding that the economic condition of the establishments is largely linked to the employment status of the workers.
