Tunisia-Bassam Naifer: “It is anticipated that prices will not witness significant increase during Ramadan” [Video]

Speaking to Tunisie Numérique, financial and economic analyst Bassam Niefer remarked that it is usual for inflation rates to increase during  Ramadan, as a noticeable increase is registered in the prices of various items, particularly food, in light of the high demand and consumption during this month.

He added that the rate of increase was somewhat higher over the past years due to a considerable shortage in the availability of some materials, noting that concerning Ramadan this year, it is apparent that the various ministries and parties concerned have made several preparations to secure it.

Our speaker also indicated that it is anticipated that prices will not witness a notable increase during Ramadan, and inflation rates will not be at the same levels recorded during previous years.
