Tunisia-Beja: Fires ravage 8 hectares of wheat

Two fires that ignited concurrently in Beja and Medjez El Bab, have damaged approximately 8 hectares of wheat, the TAP reported.

Firefighters managed to control the fire that broke out in the locality of Barech in Beja after the fire-ravaged more than 3.5 hectares of wheat, while attempts are proceeding to control the fire that ignited in a state-owned agricultural farm in El Herry road, Medjez El Bab.

A civil protection source related TAP 4 that hectares of wheat are endangered by the flame.

The weather conditions and the rise in temperature recorded in the region would be the causes of these fires, the source added.
