Tunisia-Biography of Malek Zahi, Minister of Social Affairs

Malek Zahi was selected, Monday, October 11, 2021, to the post of Minister of Social Affairs in the government of Najla Bouden. Born July 9, 1979, in Gafsa, Malek Zahi finished his university studies at the Faculty of Economics and Management in Tunis. He is the son of a trade unionist and former secretary-general of the UGTT Mohamed Moncef Zahi and grandson of Abdjaouad Zahi, one of the founders of the Tunisian national movement in 1930.

 

In 2006, he received a master’s degree in business administration. In 2008, he obtained a master’s degree in economics and risk management. In 2011, he earned a diploma in communication technique and technology. He has additionally been an expert and head of the insurance department since 2008. Malek Zahi is a former UGET activist. He is additionally one of the organizers of the Kasbah 1 and Kasbah 2 sit-ins, an activist in the Tunisian League for Human Rights.
