Tunisia-Bochra Bel Haj Hmida: Kais Saied position in favor of death penalty,”worsened his situation”

Characterizing President Kais Saied’s speeches as “electoral propaganda,” human rights activist Bochra Bel Haj Hmida said the Head of State remains in a reality parallel to that encountered by Tunisians.

Bel Haj Hmida estimated that the position of the President of the Republic in favour of the death penalty “worsened his situation”, affirming that he would have done better to take advantage of this kind of opportunity to condemn violence against women.

Bel Haj Hmida also criticized the position of the President of the Republic with regard to inheritance equality, calling it “hyper conservative”
