The President of the Independent Higher Authority for Elections, Farouk Bouasker, stated during the press conference, held this Thursday, June 30, 2022, that the process of retaining voters and adopting the June 3 referendum calendar was respected.
He likewise revealed that the ISIE was ready to secure the holding of the referendum in the best conditions. Bouasker affirmed that the ISIE received 169 applications and 161 candidates were finally picked for the referendum to be held on July 3.
This list was published on Thursday, June 28, 2022. The candidates are allocated as follows: 24 political parties, 110 individuals and 27 associations and organizations.
Eight files were thus rejected, and the appeal to the administrative justice is now open. The speaker clarified the rejections as failure to meet deadlines or missing documents or the candidate does not meet the criteria.
