Tunisia-Breaking news: 1208 coronavirus infections and 48 deaths in 24 hours

48 people died from coronavirus and 1208 additional cases of infection from 37 64 tests carried out were recorded on December 1, the Ministry of Health announced on Wednesday night.

This takes fatality numbers to 3359  and infections to 99,280  since the spread of the virus in the country.

In its periodic report on the epidemiological situation in the country, the ministry further said 1134 cases of recovery were confirmed, bringing the number of people who recovered from coronavirus to 73,607.

Currently, the number of patients admitted to hospitals and private clinics have reached 1464  from a total of 4820 who have been treated in these health facilities.

310 COVID-19 patients have been admitted to intensive care units and 117 patients are put on ventilators, according to the same source.
